Dentists and Hygienist

Dr. Alison J Cocks BDS(Birm) MJDF(RCS)
GDC no.178583

I am the Principal Dentist and Owner of Kirkham Dental Care. I obtained my Bachelor of Dental Surgery from The University of Birmingham in 2009. Since then I have worked in General Practice. In 2012 I obtained the rigorous Royal College of Surgeons Membership Diploma in the Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF). I am also a qualified Invisalign practitioner.

My philosophy towards providing dentistry is simple; it should be done with care, consideration, safety and quality to the fore. It is this ethos that has driven me to running my own practice, and to ensure patients under my care are treated well from the moment they enter the practice and long after they have left!

Aside from dentistry, in the spare time I do have(!) I enjoy spending time with my family and getting out and about as much as possible. From cycling locally to walking our beloved cocker spaniel Jack, we try to lead a very active life. I love music too and as well as going to gigs I do occasionally enjoy a session on the drums.

Since becoming a parent I have had to reign in my daredevil streak but I did do a skydive recently to raise money for the global charity Smile Train, which helps to repair cleft lip and palates in developing countries.

Dr Melissa Maudsley BSc BDS(Lpool)
GDC no. 227469

I qualified from University of Central Lancashire (in conjunction with Liverpool University) and have spent the majority of my career working in private practice  up in the beautiful countryside of Cumbria.  I recently decided to move to a practice closer to home so I am now an associate here at Kirkham Dental Care and loving every minute.

I have a real passion for good quality dentistry provided in a caring environment. One of my favourite aspects of dentistry is treating nervous patients, young and old alike. I feel I have a very gentle approach and many patients have overcome their fear of dental treatment as a result, which I'm very proud of.

In my time off I enjoy spending time with my daughter Niamh and husband Neil and walking our miniature schnauzer Nala. We love going on mini-breaks in our caravan and also travelling to Europe whenever we can to indulge my passion for cheese! I am also heavily involved with organising Grimsargh Field Day and taking part in church events..

Dr Liz Glennon BChD (Leeds) MFDSRCPS
GDC no. (TBC)

I graduated from Leeds Dental School in 1999 and over the past 20 years have worked in a variety of dental practices all over the North West from busy NHS surgeries in city centres to mixed and private practices in smaller local communities. I have also worked at practices specialising in clinical sedation so I have lots of experience of dealing with very nervous patients.

I am still very passionate about dentistry and enjoy all aspects of my job. I am especially looking forward to working at Kirkham Dental Care where I hope to continue to deliver the high standard of work and caring approach the practice is well-known for.

In my spare time, I run and train regularly and having recently bought a road bike, my next aim is to complete a Triathlon. Don't worry though, I like to balance all this athletic activity by indulging in one of my other passions which is for baking. Cupcakes are my thing and I especially like coming up with new and interesting flavour combination.
